Whether it’s providing care in an Indian Health Service facility, working at a Military Hospital, or serving veterans at one of the nation’s VA facilities, government assignments offer you the opportunity to serve a unique population of patients.

OA Nurse Travel is currently recruiting for nursing jobs in the following types of facilities:

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  If I accept a job with OA Nurse Travel will I be a government employee?
A: No, you will not be an employee of the government. If you accept a job with OA Nurse Travel, you will be hired as an employee of OA Nurse Travel working at a Government Healthcare Facility.

Q: What is the typical length of a government contract?
A: Government contracts can vary in assignment length, lasting between four weeks to one or more years.

Q: Can I work with any state license?
A: Yes, in most cases you may work with any current, unrestricted license, regardless of where the facility is located. Some government entities require a license in the state of the facility location. If this is the case for an assignment that you are interested in your recruiter will discuss details and options with you.

Q: How long will the hiring paperwork take?
A: The government credentialing and hiring process can be lengthy and paperwork intensive. This process can be as short as a week or take more than a month, however, our experienced Credentialing Department is always available to answer questions and guide you through it to ensure that you are able to begin work as soon as possible. Paperwork submitted for a government opportunity is good for one year, so applying for another opportunity in a couple of months will not be as exhaustive. VetPro qualified professionals (for VA hospitals only) are eligible for an expedited hiring process since all VetPro qualified professionals’ credentials are contained within the VA system.

Q: Why are two criminal background checks required?
A: As a Joint Commission Certified organization, we conduct criminal background checks for every applicant and government institutions conduct an exhaustive criminal background check, as well.
